Beyond the Walls

The Serve Ministry is guided by the SMUMC mission statement, To Love God, Serve Others and Embrace Community. Projects are selected by the team based on urgent or ongoing needs and to provide a diverse menu of opportunities for the Church Family. With the love of Christ through the guidance of the Holy Spirit, we help inspire service to individuals, groups, and communities both at home and abroad.

Some of our projects are / have been:

  • Soldier comfort item collections to For the Troops
  • Foster Family support through James Storehouse
  • Childrens knitwear through Knit for Kids
  • Prayer Shawls for anyone in need of comfort
  • Food donation to Manna and James Storehouse
  • Meals for the needy through Harbor House
  • Quilt and Craft Ministry supporting Joni and Friends Ministry, Wheels for the World
  • Recycling (batteries, cellphones, ink cartridges, glasses)
